Dan won the first ever Lawle Guby Open and has won it a further two times. He is the winningest player in Lawle Guby history, in 2006 adding a Wooden Spoon to his three winning trophies.

In 2008 Dan decided to miss his first ever Lawle Guby Open to give other people a chance. He is married to Irish lass Ali.

He holds a number of records, including the lowest ever back 9 total of 31.
