Shandy prefers to be known by his real name, Andrew Roylance. We think that Shandy suits him better.

Shandy is well known for complaining about his handicap, succeeding in having it increased one year and then going on to win the tournament.

Needless to say, his handicap has been very carefully managed since then and the Handicapping Committee has learnt to ignore his whining.

Apart from his win in 2000, Shandy was defeated in a playoff for first place in 2013 but bounced back to winning ways with a nerveless display in 2015. He also came second in 2005 and picked up the wooden spoon in 2003 and 2011.

Shandy also holds one of the longest standing Lawle Guby records - his score of 10 on the 7th hole in 2003 is yet to be beaten.

Trivia: Shandy is a big fan of both Birmingham City and WBA.
